Those Toyota Motor Homes
This may come as a surprise... but these little motorhomes
are still around and have an enthusasitic following. Would you like to discover a used motorhome that you can
purchase for under $10,000? That will routinely get over 12
miles per gallon and fit in your driveway? The Toyota based motorhomes built in the 1980's and early
1990's will do these things and more. The Toyota motorhomes were manufactured by several companies
from the late 1970s until 1994. During these years, there were as many as sixty different
manufacturers building these little motorhomes. They were
constructed in two lengths, the short 18 foot version and
the longer 22 foot model. Some of today's major RV companies got their start by
building these campers. National RV created the first of
the long lived Dolphin RV series on the Toyota chasis. Although age and time have taken their toll on these
motorhomes, there are still many usable examples rolling on
the roads across America. Ten years ago, they were a common sight. The little Toyota
motorhomes graced many driveways and highways. As the
intervening years passed, the numbers of these units in use
became less and less. Today, they are not as common but
still are used by a devoted following of fans.
